So, how much fun was that?? But what should you do when you run out of effervescent tablets?

Fizz Power 2
Try making a rocket using vinegar and baking soda. The problem with putting baking soda into the canister and adding vinegar, is that it goes too fast. Try this instead: Tear off a piece of paper towel about 2 inches square. Put some baking soda in the middle of the piece of towel and fold it up to make a little package. Pour a little vinegar into the canister, drop in the baking soda pack, snap on the top, set it down, and stand back.

How much vinegar? How much baking soda? You figure it out!!

Here's a way to have fun AND see what's going on in a chemical reaction. You'll need vinegar, baking soda, dish washing detergent, water, and a soda bottle or large jar. Put 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup water in the bottle. Add about 1/2 teaspoon dish washing detergent and swirl the bottle to mix the liquids. Don't shake the bottle. Dump 1 tablespoon baking soda in the bottle all at once (you might want to use a paper cup or funnel to help you get it all inside). Swirl the bottle again and watch what happens. Keep swirling and it will keep bubbling for quite a long time.
